WebAbout Frierson I started surfing in 1957 in Coronado, California. My first board was a 9’10’’ Hobie and I surfed the area from Carlsbad North to K38 Baja Mexico South. I rode my first epoxy in 1959!! My Navy family moved to Virginia Beach in 1965 and at that time I rode for Hobie through Pete Smith and Bob Holland’s Surf Shop.
