Fish stuck in filter
WebOct 23, 2016 · Reaction score. 0. Feb 14, 2012. #1. I woke up this morning to find a neon tetra and one of my zebra danios stuck between the glass and the filter. The neon tetra looks dead, but the zebra danio is still breathing (just about). I tried taking some water out to see if they drop down but no go and I don't want to cut out my filter. WebFish help. I recently got a small green spotted puffer for my freshwater tank and today I found that he was stuck back first in the filter. I was able to get him out alive but he was injured. He won't move his back fin or his back in general to move or adjust himself and he has a large bump on his left back side right by his pectoral fin.

It is possible for healthy fish to get sucked in. I had experienced that before with my powerhead killing almost half of the tetras I kept 5 years ago. I reused the powerhead again this time locking the strainer with a tube connecting the sponge.
